Grantee: Women’s Sport Trust
Geographic Focus: UK
Duration: April 2025 – December 2026
The Women’s Sport Trust’s Unlocked programme is a support network for elite female athletes in the UK. Launched in 2021 to support athletes to make the most out of emerging opportunities and strategically navigate opportunities in media, commercial spaces, and leadership roles. The programme supports athletes to articulate their identities, ensuring more female and diverse voices can be heard across sport. It provides athletes with the space to understand what is important to them and why, enabling them to leverage their influence to drive positive change in sport and beyond, and ultimately plan for their futures. Unlocked alumni are an intentionally diverse group of elite female athletes, representing more than 32 different sporting disciplines: 111 elite female athletes, 15% of whom are Paralympians and almost a third (31%) ethnic minorities.
