NPA – The Next Quarter

About the Project

The Next Quarter programme will enable the delivery of structured support in key areas that directly impact the athlete’s well-being, career longevity and ability to cope with transitions throughout their career. The programme with be delivered through a team of Personal Development Managers who will build individual relationships with members to ensure the programme fits their needs with the objective of:

  • Helping players balance netball with education, career aspirations, and personal development,
  • Guiding players through key career transitions—whether stepping up in competition, returning from injury, or planning for life after netball,
  • Providing tools to help players manage stress, pressures of elite sport, and personal expectations,
  • Equipping players with skills to manage finances and career planning, ensuring a stable future.

The Programme will be bespoke to the needs of female athletes, engaged in a dual career while playing or aspiring to play in a semi-professional league. The shape and content of the programme will be created through a co-design process involving current and retired players alongside other stakeholders. The programme is seeking to achieve, more focussed and confident athletes with reduced stress and burnout to best prepare players for whatever comes next so that they thrive well beyond their time on court.
